MERZOUGA DESERT EXCURSION – SAND BOARDING IN DESERT
Sand Boarding in Merzouga desert : Close to the camp, in Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga, you can enjoy your free time and have fun during your stay the camp with sand boarding activities climbing the high dunes and sliding down. Its a Sahara desert fun.
MERZOUGA DESERT EXCURSION – SANDBATH IN DESERT
The sand bath in Merzouga in the Sahara desert is an ancient Berber treatment for curing ailments affecting the joints, muscles and tendons. It is best performed during the hottest months in summer. For the preparation of the bath, a hole is dug in the sand the size of the person taking the bath and about 20 cm deep. The hole is left open for half an hour to allow the desert heat to penetrate into the sand. Once sufficiently hot, the person lies in the hole and is “buried” in sand, obviously leaving the head free. The person spends typically from 10-30 minutes in the bath.
MERZOUGA DESERT EXCURSION – BERBER COOKING LESSON
We will join a local Berber family in their house and the Berber cooking lesson is run by an experienced cook whose trade secrets have passed down her family for generations. English speaking guide, will do the translation to English. It will be assisting in the cooking class as you learn about the techniques of traditional local cooking. We learn how to make mint tea, also Moroccan bread, and how to cook it in a traditional oven above a wooden fire.
